The AI-D³ (AI-Driven Disease Detection and Control for Chili Cultivation)
project was developed as an artificial intelligence (AI)-based monitoring system aimed
at assessing plant health and detecting diseases in chili plants. One of the main
challenges in chili cultivation is the reliance on manual observation, which is time-
consuming and inconsistent, particularly when managing a large number of plants. This
may lead to delayed disease detection and inaccurate assessment of plant conditions.
The primary objective of this project is to design and develop an AI-based
system capable of detecting diseases in chili plants, evaluating plant health based on
visual features such as leaf discoloration and plant growth, and estimating crop yield
through the detection of chili fruits. The system operates by analyzing images of chili
plants, including leaves, stems, and fruits, using computer vision and machine learning
techniques.
The project implementation involves collecting a dataset of chili plant images
under various health conditions, training the AI model, and evaluating the system’s
performance based on the accuracy and consistency of disease detection and health
classification. The results demonstrate that the proposed system is capable of improving
monitoring efficiency and supporting more accurate decision-making in chili
cultivation management
