MOHD FAIZAL BIN MOHD MUSLIM Politeknik Muadzam Shah

Solarina Bag is a social innovation that integrates solar energy technology with an eco-friendly menstrual care kit, specially designed for schoolgirls from rural communities and low-income (B40) groups. This smart school bag is equipped with a mini solar panel, USB port, built-in power bank, LED light, and waterproof material, allowing for sustainable and safe device charging. The included Period Survival Kit consists of washable cloth pads, mini soap, an odor-proof pouch, and an educational booklet with a QR Code. This innovation aims to reduce school absenteeism caused by the lack of access to electricity and hygiene facilities, while empowering young girls with better access to education, health, and gender equality. Solarina Bag also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Good Health and Well-being (SDG3), Gender Equality (SDG 5), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12).
