This project aims to develop an AI-based workplace safety monitoring system using Raspberry Pi for the food processing industry to detect compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specifically head protection (hairnet). The system utilizes a camera and image processing techniques to identify the presence of workers and
determine whether the required PPE is worn in real time.In addition, the system is integrated with an automatic door control mechanism, where the door will only open if
the worker is wearing complete PPE. If a worker is detected not complying with PPE requirements, the door will remain closed, and the system will activate an alarm through a buzzer and send notifications as a preventive measure.The development of this system aims to improve workplace safety and hygiene, reduce reliance on manual monitoring, and ensure compliance with food industry standards. Overall, this system is expected to enhance safety monitoring efficiency and minimize the risk of contamination in food production environments.
