The transition from paper-based assessments to digital learning environments in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is often hindered by concerns over academic misconduct, excessive paper consumption, and inefficient administrative processes. To overcome these challenges, SmartMath+, a zero-cost, web-based digital assessment platform, was developed to enhance mathematics assessment while preserving academic integrity in unproctored remote settings. This study examined students’ acceptance of the platform, its interface usability, and the effectiveness of its anti-cheating features, including window-focus monitoring and dynamic watermarking. A quantitative approach employing pre- and post-test surveys was conducted with 30 students enrolled in the SBM 10022 Mathematics course from the Automotive Technology and Food Processing Technology programmes at Pasir Salak Community College during Session I 2026/2027. The findings revealed an increase in the overall mean score from 3.99 (SD = 0.80) in the pre-test to 4.10 (SD = 0.82) in the post-test, indicating a very high level of system acceptance. Among the evaluated components, the anti-cheating security features achieved the highest mean score of 4.27 (SD = 0.83), followed by students’ satisfaction with immediate score feedback and the automated generation of PDF answer scripts, which recorded a mean score of 4.17 (SD = 0.79). SmartMath+ contributes to creating a fair and secure assessment environment and support a fully paperless initiative. Future studies are recommended to expand the implementation of SmartMath+ to other STEM courses across polytechnics and community colleges, as well as to incorporate AI-powered automated item analysis.
