In modern automated warehousing and manufacturing, space optimization has led to an increased reliance on vertical storage systems. However, conventional small-scale lifting mechanisms often struggle with payload stability, positioning inaccuracies due to mechanical backlash, and inefficient vertical space utilization. This project presents the design and development of an innovative Vertical Mini Stacker, engineered to provide automated, precise, and compact material handling for tight operational environments.
The system utilizes a sturdy vertical mast structure integrated with a high-torque drive mechanism (electric winch motor-driven) and is managed via a closed-loop microcontroller system. Safety features, including limit switches and automated braking, are incorporated to ensure reliable payload transition.
Experimental testing indicates that the Vertical Mini Stacker achieves a positioning accuracy and can efficiently handle loads up to 150 kg. This innovation offers a highly scalable, cost-effective, and energy-efficient solution ideal for micro-factories, electronic component storage, and smart laboratory automation.
