The assessment and evaluation of student projects in polytechnic education involve multiple components, including technical development, product functionality, presentation, and predefined assessment criteria. Conventional evaluation practices often rely on manual marking and printed forms, resulting in time-consuming processes, calculation errors, fragmented documentation, and difficulties in managing assessment records. To address these challenges, i-ProMark: Intelligent Project Evaluation & Marking System was developed as a digital assessment solution for Project 1 and Project 2 at the polytechnic level. The system was developed using an integrated digital platform comprising Google Sheets, AppSheet, Google Apps Script, and Google Sites. Google Sheets serves as the central database, AppSheet enables digital rubric-based assessment, Google Apps Script automates mark processing, PDF report generation, and dashboard functions, while Google Sites provides the end-user interface. i-ProMark integrates rubric-based assessment, automated mark calculation, performance monitoring, reporting, and assessment record management into a centralized platform. The system enables lecturers, supervisors, and panel members to enter marks directly without printed forms, reducing administrative workload and calculation errors while improving transparency, consistency, confidentiality, efficiency, and reliability. The implementation demonstrates positive impacts through paperless assessment, streamlined evaluation processes, improved data accessibility, and evidence-based decision-making. Furthermore, i-ProMark has strong commercialization potential as a scalable digital assessment solution that can be adapted to different programs, institutions, and project-based assessment environments. Its use of accessible digital platforms provides a cost-effective and sustainable model for TVET institutions seeking to modernize assessment practices and strengthen quality assurance.
